The exhibition Longing as Organ is a group exhibition with artists Emmarosa Liebgen, Marie Louise Westring Hvidman and Meret Krasa.

In the exhibition Longing as Organ, Emmarosa Liebgen, Marie Louise Westring Hvidman, and Meret Krasa explore longing as a bodily orientation toward contact, care, and change. Longing can encompass both the intimate and the structural: a longing for another body, another place, another pace, another way of being in relation to others. However, we also understand longing as a survival mechanism — a need for belonging and meaning — in a world characterised by acceleration, exhaustion, and ecological instability. Drawing on references to myths, culture, and nature, the three artists explore what longing holds.

Liebgen, Hvidman, and Krasa met while studying at the Funen Art Academy and have created the works in close dialogue with one another specifically for this exhibition at Cantina.

The exhibition is kindly supported by Aarhus Municipality and the Danish Arts Foundation.
